Who won the debate?

Biden and Trump faced off in the first presidential debate of 2024. Newsweek says analysts were split on who won: Biden's frail performance raised concerns, but Trump's falsehoods went unchecked.

But a CNN poll did declare a winner -- Trump. 67% of voters who watched said that the ex-president had a “better performance”.

Opinion writers from the NYT largely agree: Trump won the debate. Biden's performance was too weak to counter Trump's lies.

Still, Biden seemed to impress Dave Portnoy. He said Biden's debate performance was surprisingly “coherent”.

A MSNBC Op had a different take: Neither Trump nor Biden won the debate. Biden appeared frail and defensive, while Trump was hyperbolic and evasive.

ESPN ice cream incident

ESPN filmed two women eating ice cream at the Men's College World Series final. One of the women later came forward and slammed the segment, saying it led to online harassment and comparisons to “Hawk Tuah” girl.

Watch her TikTok calling out ESPN here. She says the coverage made it obvious to her that women are still unwelcome in sports environments.

But @Prinztoosmooth on X says ESPN's not to blame here: It's just ice cream! They didn't sexualize anything.

@4th_and_Long_ on X adds that there's no expectation of privacy in public spaces.

But a different TikToker says the women's outrage was fair: Men are so quick to minimize instances of sexual harassment. ESPN was definitely in the wrong here.
