🚗 Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles

Is Tesla's big recall a true fix, or are there bigger autopilot woes in the company's future?

🚗 NBC: After an investigation brought safety issues to light, Tesla issued a recall of over 2m vehicles. It involved a software update to reduce driver misuse of the car's autopilot feature.

🚗 The Verge thinks Tesla's recall is a band-aid, not a true fix for autopilot misuse. Tesla still has a safety issue!

🚗 But @wholemarsblog says the commotion over the recall is silly. All it took to address the issue was a quick software update.

🚗 Bloomberg believes that Tesla will recover from its recall, but the stunt illustrates the problems that Tesla poses for others in the self-driving space.

🎅🏽 Is it weird to sit on Santa’s lap?

Some parents don't want their kids to sit on Santa's lap — it runs counter to their messages of boundaries and consent.

🎅🏽 Woman's Day doesn't think kids should sit on Santa's lap. Parents shouldn’t give up a “stranger danger” policy for this sketchy tradition.

🎅🏽 But not all parents agree, notes WaPo. To some, it's a classic tradition that's getting sadly politicized. Linking Santa with the age of consent and #metoo is absurd.

🎅🏽 Moms.com thinks it's OK for kids to sit on Santa's lap, as long as they want to. Forcing kids to do it might erode their trust in their parents.

🎅🏽 And the New Yorker says it can be a great teachable moment. Parents should empower their kids to make whatever choice feels right to them.
