Walz’s debate strategy

Kamala's VP Tim Walz is gearing up for a debate against Trump's VP JD Vance. LA Times says Walz should focus on being relatable -- the move could connect him with rural voters and effectively counter JD Vance's intellectual style.

But NPR thinks Walz should play up his governing experience instead: He should highlight his legislative achievements to challenge JD Vance's storytelling chops.

Meanwhile, AP suggests he keeps it cool: Walz's calm demeanor will win debates by tackling policy over personal attacks, sticking to healthcare, education, and veterans' affairs.

ABC News says Walz is as pragmatic as they come. By dissecting Vance's policies and laying out alternatives, Walz will turn the VP debate into a battle of ideas.
