Trump shot in the ear

NYT: Trump was shot in the ear during a rally in Pennsylvania. The suspected gunman and one spectator were killed -- Trump is safe.

ABC News says the suspect was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year old from the area. His motive is unknown.

WaPo says conspiracy theories flooded social media after Trump rally shooting, with both sides blaming each other.

Background on the shooter

BBC says Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old kitchen worker from Pennsylvania, is the suspected shooter. He was killed by a sniper moments after the shooting.

Al Jazeera: Explosives were found in his vehicle -- it could've been really serious.

Reuters notes that he was a registered Republican who would've had his first presidential election in November. He didn't have a criminal record.

Fox News: But he also donated to a democratic voter turnout campaign in 2017. Really, we don't know much about his motives yet.

Telegraph: But he was wearing a “Demolition Ranch” t-shirt -- that's a popular pro-gun youtube channel.
