Trump found guilty

Reuters: A New York jury found former President Donald Trump guilty of falsifying records to cover up a hush-money payment. This makes Trump the first U.S. President to be convicted of a felony.

Politico reports that sentencing comes next -- Trump could be given jail time, but it seems unlikely. He might get a stricter sentence because of his gag order violations though.

NYT says this should be a political death sentence, but his supporters don't care. He's created a well crafted “witch hunt” narrative.

But U.S. rep Elise Stefanik says it's not a narrative, it's the truth. The verdict was a “sham”, and said the trial was “corrupt”. The outcome is just the result of partisan bias.

BBC: It's hard to tell how this will impact the actual election. It could convince some voters, but might just be a bump on his road to power.

Rowdy fans at the French Open

ESPN: After disruptive fan behavior, The French Open banned alcohol in stands.

David Goffin says the fans were out of control. They are turning tennis into football with their unruly behavior!

A Reddit video on r/Tennis shows Iga Swiatek speaking to the crowd directly after a match -- she called for them to respect the players and let them focus.

But maybe tennis needs some chaos? Nick Kyrgios champions rowdier tennis crowds for a livelier game -- as long as they're respectful.
