The Tim Walz VP pick

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is Harris's VP pick. WaPo says he's a great choice for his progressive policies and fresh perspective.

A Bloomberg Op agrees: Tim Walz is a solid VP pick for Kamala Harris due to his folksy, “regular guy” vibes and experience.

But National Review wasn't a fan: Walz highlights the Democrat’s “weakness for lawlessness” -- he poorly handed the violent protests Minnesota saw in 2020.

Hot Air also slammed the pick: Walz is a “ridiculous choice” due to his radical liberal views.

LA Times offered another perspective: Tim Walz is a smart VP pick, but he won't guarantee Harris victory in November. Research shows running mates rarely deliver their home state's electoral votes.

Cause of the market drop?

Global stocks plunged over the weekend amid fears that the US economy is faltering. Vox says a bad jobs report spooked investors.

But Fortune thinks AI woes drove the trend, too: The dip shows that some AI promises were overhyped.

On the other hand, Trump blames Harris for stock market slide -- calling it the “Kamala Crash”.

CNN thinks a combination of factors caused the freakout. But it's not a market crash, it's just a sign of widespread panic. Keep calm and carry on!

1) Nine dead and one injured after a vehicle crashed into a canal in Palm Beach County, Florida.

2) Bangladesh gears up for elections after the president dissolves Parliament, following weeks of violent protests.

3) The San Francisco 49ers are considering trade offers for receiver Brandon Aiyuk, with no agreement reached yet.

4) Tensions escalate with deaths in West Bank and a Hezbollah drone attack on Israel amid efforts to prevent regional war.
