Gaza aid site tragedy

A tragic event at a Gaza aid site left over 100 dead, sparking global outcry and calls for a probe.

⚫ CNN reports that over 100 Palestinians were confirmed dead at a humanitarian food site, amid reports of Israeli gunfire. There are conflicting accounts of what happened.

WaPo: Israel says the deaths were because of a stampede for the food trucks. The shooting was a separate incident.

⚫ Al Jazeera says that's a lie. Israeli forces fired on Gaza aid seekers then altered their story as casualties rose.

⚫ Jacobin thinks that Israel's “Flour Massacre” is a horrific war crime, and the US is complicit.

⚫ Reuters reports that French PM Macron demands justice for the shooting, and condemned the Israeli soldiers. He called for an immediate ceasefire.

♻️ Stop recycling?

Some say recycling plastic is a sham, while others argue it's crucial for our planet.

♻️ New Republic says recycling is a sham. It's ineffective — plastics are barely recyclable. And the plastic industry's known it for decades!

♻️ The Center for Climate Integrity agrees. A 2024 study found that most plastics can't be recycled, but the industry sold the myth to dodge regulation.

♻️ Popular Science: Yup, recycling's a hoax. We need systemic solutions to the threat that plastic poses to the environment.

♻️ But Bloomberg had a different take: Like it or not, plastics aren't going anywhere. We should push for more efficient recycling, not the end of it.
