👔 In the news: The Senate’s dress code

The US Senate passed a formal dress code. A big reason for this change was Sen. John Fetterman, known for his very casual attire. Was the rule change fair?

👔 The National Review said Senator John Fetterman's casual outfits motivated the dress code conversation.

👔 Hot Air: The Senate was right to create a formal dress code. Fetterman's hoodie-and-shorts combination was disrespectful to the institution.

👔 The NY Post agreed: Take that, Fetterman. The Senate agreed unanimously that public servants should at least be bothered to wear a tie.

👔 But The Guardian thought Fetterman's casual attire wasn’t a big deal. Fashion and the concept of what's “casual” evolves over time.

👔 The Daily Beast: Either way, Fetterman seems to have a sense of humor about it. He tweeted a nonchalant picture in response to the news.

⛓️ Cultural trend: Is silver back?

Beyoncé and fashion designers are huge fans of the metallic. Is silver making a resurgence in the fashion world?

⛓️ Vogue says the 2010s are back! The fashion world loves silver again — it's been featured in many fall 2023 fashion shows.

⛓️ Fashionista thinks that Beyoncé’s fans delivered on her request for them to wear their “most fabulous silver fashions”, helping bring silver back in style.

⛓️ On the other hand, Impakter worries that silver's renaissance will encourage unsustainable business practices from fast-fashion brands. The increase in demand and production of silver clothes is bad for the planet.

⛓️ Still, Refinery29 is a fan: Silver is perfect for going-out outfits — who doesn't want to look like a disco ball? It’s a fun trend.
