🎞️ In the news: Killers of the Flower Moon

“Killers of the Flower Moon” is Martin Scorsese’s new film. It’s 3.5 hours long, and is about Native Americans in Oklahoma circa 1920.

🎞️ The WSJ hated it: The casting was all wrong, and events on screen were dull and predictable. Watching this movie is like “being locked in a room with a pair of soulless sadists”.

🎞️ But the film earned a “certified fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a critic score of 92% and an audience score of 85%. So some people liked it!

🎞️ The NYT was a fan: The film is a “masterpiece”. Martin Scorsese has done the true-crime story justice.

🎞️ So what's with the diverging reviews? The Observer had a theory: Killers of the Flower Moon was brilliant, but its runtime made for an unenjoyable watch.

🗣️ Cultural trend: Complaining about work

Should you complain about work? It might be good for your mental health, but maybe it's bad for your career.

🗣️ Verywell Mind says it’s fine to complain about work, but make sure it's to someone who can actually help you improve your situation.

🗣️ Eat Your Career disagrees: Don't do it — it's annoying. Everybody has complaints about their job, but airing them out is really unhelpful. Nobody likes a constant complainer.

🗣️ Calm Sage sees both sides. Complaining is cathartic and relieves stress in the moment, but it's not an effective long-term coping mechanism.

🗣️ The NY Post likes it: It's good for your mental health. Work is stressful, and venting your frustrations means they don't build up. Plus, if you pick the right person to complain to, it can build camaraderie.
