🎬 The “Rust” armorer’s sentence

🎬 The armorer involved in the “Rust” shooting received the max sentence for the fatal shooting of a cinematographer. The WSJ says the 18-month term reflects a serious stance on set safety.

🎬 The Hollywood Reporter notes that a lack of remorse also played a role in the sentencing. The Judge said the armorer didn't take accountability.

🎬 A Redditor on r/Movies thinks the sentence is fair: The armorer deserves the max punishment for her fatal oversight.

🎬 But Emily Miller on Substacker disagreed: She wasn't the one holding the gun! Alec Baldwin was the one who fired it — he didn't follow safety protocol.

🎬 On the other hand, @GydaRagnarsdot1 on X thinks Baldwin deserves a lighter sentence: He's less at fault than the armorer.

🏀 Caitlin Clark’s WNBA salary

🏀 Caitlin Clark, the WNBA’s top draft pick, will make roughly $76k in her first year in the league. NBC says many are outraged — why is her pay so low compared to NBA players?

🏀 Newsweek thinks it's crazy. Caitlin Clark will make less than some NBA mascots next year — that's so unfair.

🏀 But OutKick says it's a market reality. WNBA salaries are low in general because there isn't enough fan support to make them higher with TV deal earnings.

🏀 Sporting News points out that Clark will make loads from sponsorship deals — one estimate says $3.1 million.
