Democrats regrouping
After their decisive election loss, Japan Today says Democrats need to face their disconnect from voters -- especially on issues like the high cost of living and the economy.
Politico.eu agrees: Dems lost touch with their working-class base, pushing voters to Trump. Time for a major reevaluation here.
According to CommonDreams.org, it's not just about the economy. The Dems' strategy and ideology are outdated, losing them elections repeatedly. Woke and identity politics are not the future, and it won't put Dems in power.
Reason.com has some forward-looking advice, and it comes from 2012 Republicans: Conduct a full-blown “autopsy” to find out what went wrong. Dems notably failed to do this in 2016, when Trump rose to power. They were so focused on portraying him as unfit for office and focusing on Russian interference that they didn't think enough about what their affirmative message was.
Racist spam texts
WCVB.com reveals that Stoughton High School students, like many nationwide, received disturbing spam texts with racist content like “pick cotton at the nearest plantation”.
NBCBoston.com adds that these racist messages, targeting students of color, are part of a broader hate trend causing distress and prompting local investigations.
WBUR highlights that the texts specifically target Black students, leading to emotional support measures and federal investigations for these alarming spam messages nationwide.
While BostonGlobe.com underscores the unacceptable nature of this incident, with the school administration taking a strong stance against these racially charged texts.
MassLive.com confirms that Stoughton High is addressing this shocking incident as part of an “abhorrent nationwide trend,” urging reporting of similar messages.
