Milton recovery

Sun-Sentinel reports: Florida grapples with widespread devastation after Hurricane Milton. Rescuers are busy pulling people to safety from damaged structures.

Chicago Tribune says millions of Floridians remain powerless, though: The hurricane caused significant damage to the state's infrastructure -- the storm initially knocked out power to about 1/3 of the state.

But Fox News says over 275 linemen from Florida Power and Light are on the case. They were stationed at a Miami hotel to assist with emergency response efforts.

The Guardian's take: Authorities are hard at work managing severe storm surges and rescue priorities. But the full impact of Hurricane Milton is still unfolding.

Raccoon takeover

Cowboy State Daily: In Poulsbo, WA, a woman had to flee her house when over 100 aggressive raccoons came looking for food -- she had been feeding the raccoons for over 30 years.

USA Today: The raccoons were scratching and causing disturbances -- The homeowner even called 911!

NBC News: It startled the neighbors -- raccoons can have diseases, and there's always a risk of rabies. The lesson here is to not feed wild animals, ever!

Fox13: Lucky for the critters, they did not have to be euthanized -- they dispersed after discovering they weren't going to be fed.
