African mpox worsens

BBC: In Central Africa, mpox is on the rise, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo. There's a rising infection rates and a lack of healthcare resources.

The Conversation argues that the West is partially to blame for stockpiling vaccines -- preventing disease spread is good for everybody, why can't those countries give more of their vaccines to the people who need them?

Al Jazeera says it's mostly about logistical challenges with distribution -- Many vaccines were donated, but they aren't reaching those in need.

Bloomberg highlights the impact on kids: 60% of cases and 80% of deaths are of kids under 15. They're the one who need the vaccines the most.

Science.org thinks the whole world should prioritize mpox more -- we can prevent outbreaks if we're smart and act early!

Private citizen spacewalk

Jared Isaacman, a private citizen on SpaceX's Dragon capsule, completed a successful spacewalk. WaPo says the mission was intended to test out SpaceX's new space suits -- its success could be a game-changer for independent space travel.

National Review's take: The first private spacewalk proves bureaucracy is not the way! Billionaire ventures like SpaceX are crucial to humanity's starward expansion.

But Al Jazeera says the private spacewalk raised questions about oversight of private space missions: Some say Polaris Dawn's mission is breaking Article VI of the Outer Space Treaty.
