  • Potential trouble with our ozone layer

  • 4 quick hits of news from the last 24 hours

Trump's shark obsession

The Daily Beast: Donald Trump has a peculiar, well-documented disdain for sharks. At a recent Las Vegas rally, his shark phobia was on full display.

NY Mag says his shark obsession isn't news: Back in a 2018 interview, Stormy Daniels said Trump was “terrified” of them.

The Atlantic: The public is a little too accepting of Trump's shark fixation. It reflects a larger issue of ignoring his outlandish statements.

The Week had a different theory: Trump's shark phobia reflects his disdain for anything beyond his control.

On the other hand, maybe Trump's shark obsession can do good. Back in 2018, The Guardian reported that Trump's shark phobia sparked a charity-giving spree.

Ozone layer trouble?

Wslr.org: The ozone layer has improved for many years, but recent data is making some scientists sound the alarm -- rising traffic and climate change could be doing harm.

The European Environment Agency says the ozone layer's recovery is dynamic. There are some recent large holes, but we can continue the positive trend by sticking to the Montreal Protocol.

CNBC agrees: In general the layer is doing really well. A full recovery is expected by 2066.

Bloomberg: We can thank proactive policies like CFC bans -- they really help!
