Biden challenges Trump

Joe Biden publicly challenged Donald Trump to face him in 2 debates before the 2024 election. You can watch his challenge here.

Trump accepted the challenge in a Truth Social post. NY Post said Biden's challenge came with conditions: He won't allow the nonpartisan group Commission on Presidential Debates to organize the debates.

Still, National Review thinks Biden was right to throw the gauntlet: It's good to see Biden engaging with Trump.

But a Redditor on r/Politics wasn't a fan: A Biden-Trump debate is futile and unproductive -- Trump doesn't use facts.

A Trib Live Op's take: Trump's eagerness for a debate with Biden could backfire on his campaign.

Orcas sink a yacht

Orcas sank a yacht in the Strait of Gibraltar. The Guardian says the incident is part of an alarming trend: Researchers have recorded almost 700 orca-ship interactions since May 2020.

The NYT reports that the situation is raising alarm for sailors: As summer approaches, some worry attacks will be more frequent.

But why are these orcas targeting boats? ABC had a theory: The yacht attacks might just be a “social fad” among orcas. It may not be aggressive behavior.

But Gizmodo thinks the orcas could be feeling vengeful: The director of the Orca Behavior Institute says the orcas may be lashing out due to past trauma.

Either way, @Tarara42 on X hopes people don't place the blame on orcas -- after all, these ships are “encroaching on their space”.
