π The FTC bans non-competes
π The FTC announced a ban on non-compete agreements, which prevent workers from working for a competitor. They say it's a huge win for worker freedom and wages.
π The Hill: The Chamber of Commerce calls it a big mistake β it undermines a business's ability to compete, plus it's FTC overreach.
π CBS: But there are still trade secret laws and confidentiality agreements β businesses still have many tools to protect their secrets!
π NYT agrees. Non-competes handcuff employees by limiting job mobility, so this is a big win for market competition!
π Olympic breakdancing
π Breakdancing hits the Olympic stage in Paris 2024. NBC says it's set to defy gravity and captivate millions with its high-energy moves.
π Forbes says breaking has come a long way from its 80s roots: The practice has evolved a lot since then!
π But a Pique Op wasn't psyched: Breakdancing doesn't fit the Olympic Games' spirit. It feels out of place.
π And Jackalope reports that the breakdancing community isn't sure it belongs, either: Some worry it'll dilute the art of breaking.
π For better or for worse, artists like Victor Montalvo are ready to take the world stage in 2024. Read Rolling Stone's interview with him here.
