Dengue fever on the rise

Yahoo: A study conducted by researchers from the University of Maryland, Harvard University, and Stanford University found that climate change is responsible for nearly 19% of dengue infections in the Americas and parts of Southeast Asia.

News-Medical: Lab tests show conclusively that dengue mosquitoes thrive as temperatures rise, boosting virus production.

NBC: The problem is hitting home. Locally acquired dengue is rising in places like Florida and Puerto Rico, and is spiking in places like Peru, Mexico, and Brazil.

New study on Kettlebell workouts

Fan of kettlebell workouts? Yahoo has some good news for you: A study presented at the at the 2024 Integrative Physiology of Exercise conference concluded that regular kettlebell workouts boost strength and cut inflammation in seniors.

Physiology.org had more good news: Even if you're not already fit, you can still see benefits from kettlebell workouts. Strength-building exercises (like kettlebells) are especially important for older people!
