Trump & the Jewish vote
NY Post says the Jewish vote could shift right: Increasing antisemitism from hard-left Democrats may drive Jewish support towards Trump.
But Newsweek argues that Trump's controversies are a major roadblock: Endorsements and associations with extremists hurt his Jewish voter appeal.
Plus, WaPo says Trump's antisemeitic rhetoric -- ironically at a “Fighting Antisemitism” event -- won't translate to support: Despite pro-Israel moves, Jewish voters largely disapprove of Trump.
For what it's worth, Forward is skeptical, too: Jewish voter's Democratic alignment may keep Trump from securing the vote.
New McDonald’s kiosks
McDonald's rolled out cash-accepting kiosks nationwide. Bloomberg says it's a move towards a future with fewer cashiers -- you can now bypass the register entirely.
The Street says workers weren't happy: While McDonald's says no jobs will be lost, but employees fear for their job security.
On the other hand, CNN says kiosks haven't led to cashier job cuts -- they've just led to shifted roles within stores: Labor gets redirected instead of reduced.
Still, Quartz concurs with fear-mongers: The move towards automation at McDonald's reflects broader fast-food industry trends, driven by digital demand and new wage laws.
