Kamala on 60 Minutes

Kamala Harris appeared on “60 Minutes” with Bill Whitaker. Fox News wasn't impressed with the interview: Harris revealed a tendency to dodge key questions, especially on Biden's border policy, which she blamed on Congress.

Watch a clip of the interview for yourself here.

But NPR feels Harris tackled tough interviews head-on: She was open to difficult questioning, and addressed criticism from Trump.

The Hill agreed: The interview covered her policy changes and costly economic proposals -- making the “60 Minutes” interview one of the toughest ones Harris has faced yet.

For what it's worth, BBC says the interview covered lots of ground: Harris discussed everything from Ukraine to gun laws and immigration issues.

Mexican mayor murdered

CTV: Chilpancingo Mayor Alejandro Arcos was beheaded just days after he took office. He was elected as part of an opposition coalition -- he was likely murdered by cartel forces.

And it’s not just this tragedy. Politico notes the latest slaying adds to a grim tally of murdered Mexican officials -- 24 killed this election season alone.

PRI: Mexican political leaders are outraged. President Sheinbaum and Governor Salgado have condemned the killings and called for an end to this “cowardly crime”.

Mexico News Daily: Guerrero Governor Salgado is pushing for increased security in Guerrero to curb these killings -- organized crime has no place in politics.

The Guardian thinks it's more than just politics -- Over 450,000 Mexicans have died since 2006 due to cartel warfare. There needs to be a serious change in security policies.
