The UK’s Israel arms embargo

The UK suspended 30 of their 350 arms export licences to Israel after a review. The Guardian says the decision stems from concerns over humanitarian law violations.

BBC: Netanyahu called the suspension “shameful” -- this will only embolden Hamas. Former UK leader Boris Johnson said the Labour party is abandoning Israel.

The Telegraph: It's a major diversion from U.S. policy on the matter -- it might be due to the legal differences between the countries.

The Conversation: Relax, this is a tiny thing -- it's only 30 licenses, it won't change much in Gaza at all.

Middle East Monitor: Exactly, and the UK needs to seek a full embargo -- Israeli human rights violations are rampant, countries must follow international law and stop the flow of weapons to Israel.

Intuit Dome’s face ID

The Intuit Dome, home of the LA Clippers, uses facial authentication for ticketing and concessions. Stadium Tech Report says the system's meant to enhance the fan experience.

But the Atlantic said the system's a by-product of “creeping surveillance”: Intuit Dome's systems rely on Face ID. If you're not comfortable using biometrics, it's a huge hassle.

On the other hand, KTLA offered a glowing review of the dome: The venue offers an intimate experience in a mega venue -- and getting food was a breeze.

Tech aside, LA Times says the dome's an architectural wonder: The Intuit Dome is a “futuristic, otherworldly” marvel.
