Vance’s foreign policy stances
Politico Europe: JD Vance's isolationism spells disaster for Ukraine and the EU. He doesn't want to support the war effort.
Bloomberg: He's okay with aid for other causes though, like Israel. He also wants US foreign policy to focus on Asia -- it's a big break from the old Republican guard.
National Review: Actually, Vance is pushing a popular form of isolationism. He just wants to focus on domestic issues, that's what really resonates with the people -- not endless foreign entanglements.
Time: Well, it's alarming business leaders. He's strongly pro-tariff, and his disdain for the EU could harm businesses.
Ingrid Andress’s national anthem
Country singer Ingrid Andress apologized for her national anthem performance. Her rendition at the Home Run Derby was widely criticized, says Fox Sports, and she later admitted being drunk. She plans to go to rehab.
You can watch her performance here.
The Cut says Andress’s rendition went off the rails at “rocket's red glare,” making it one of the worst ever. In fact, they ranked it the 3rd worst anthem of all time. It's a hard song to sing, but still.
But an Op in The Tennessean says to cut her some slack. Yes, her performance was “objectively bad”, but that's no excuse to pile on the hate.
