George Clooney’s op-ed on Biden

George Clooney, a lifelong Dem and major Biden fundraiser, asked Biden to drop out of the race in a NYT op-ed: The party can't win with him at the helm.

National Review on Clooney's call: It's just common sense. Clooney's argument could help Democrats face reality.

Ex-Obama aides also praised Clooney's op-ed: He's right. Joe Biden isn't the same man he was in 2020.

On the other hand, this Redditor was furious: Clooney's opinion helps no one -- he doesn't even offer a Biden replacement! The infighting has got to stop.

Hollywood Reporter: Biden's team did clap back, by the way. An anonymous White House insider said that at Clooney's fundraiser, Biden stayed later than Clooney.

Florida shark attacks

Florida saw a spike in shark attacks this summer. Pensacola News Journal said the “shark summer” started on June 7, with several attacks being recorded all over the state.

Live Science thinks heat is causing the uptick in attacks: Hot weather brings bait fish closer to the shore, and that attracts sharks.

But USA Today says there's no need to panic: Shark attacks are still rare! The attacks are on the rise because there are more people in the water.

Still, if you're not convinced, The Daytona Beach News Journal lists Florida beaches that have seen the lowest number of shark attacks.

1) USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter was fired following underperformance, with U.S. Soccer aiming for a fresh start ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

2) Texas grapples with dangerous heat and extended power outages after Hurricane Beryl, causing deaths.

3) At a crucial NATO summit, President Biden's unscripted news conference could sway opinions on his second-term bid.

4) BBC sport commentator's wife and daughters were killed in a suspected crossbow attack, sparking tributes.
