Germany’s new border control
Le Monde: Following terrorist attacks, Germany will implement temporary border control to curb irregular migration and screen for terrorists. The controls will last 6 months.
BNN Bloomberg says pay attention to the timing -- the right-wing AfD party is making gains with their anti-immigration platform. The current coalition noticed, and is following suit.
Reuters notes that Austria is resisting the new policy -- they say they will not take any migrants turned away at the German border.
The Telegraph: It's part of a trend. Recently, centrist parties have changes stances on immigration to stymy the AfD's rise -- but there are serious questions about the legality of their plans, EU law could put the stop to them.

Vice says some 9/11 memes have even made their way into the National Archive. Check out the ones officials chose to preserve here.
This Reddit user thinks they're plain unfunny: Younger gens need to knock it off. The jokes are disrespectful to those affected by the tragedy.
But according to the Tribune, the jokes are a form of coping: Gen Z uses humor to process today's grim realities and serious topics.
