Harris’s path to victory

VP Kamala Harris is running for Prez on the Democratic ticket. NY Mag says she can win by leveraging her appeal among Black voters and focusing on reproductive rights.

Politico adds: Harris can win by exploiting Trump’s vulnerabilities and shaking up the electoral map.

Vox says strong nonwhite voter support is key: It could make a big difference in swing states.

But WaPo thinks Harris needs to win over Midwest voters, too: She can do that by distancing herself from negative Biden-colored perceptions.

PJ Media had yet another take: Harris must overcome the VP “wimp factor” to win.

French rail sabotage

France's high-speed train lines were sabotaged just before the Paris Olympics. CNN says “coordinated” fires disrupted travel and left authorities scrambling to find the culprits.

WaPo says the attacks affected the Atlantic, Northern, and Eastern train lines. Trains were canceled, and officials told travelers to postpone their trips if possible.

The WSJ thinks the sabotage is a big deal: The attack could cause days-long outages -- and some clues point to Russia being behind the strike.

Still, the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, urged calm. She said the attacks would “have no impact” on the Olympics opening ceremony.
