First bird flu death

The WHO has confirmed the first human death from a bird flu strain previously unseen in humans. NBC reports this case raises alarms over potential new risks.

Time says experts are worried. We need to ramp up surveillance -- there are a lot of unanswered questions.

Forbes agrees: Note though that the public's risk remains low. But yes, we need better monitoring.

ABC News: Note also that that the man was already bedridden when he got sick. Lots of unanswered questions.

Best restaurants list

The “World's 50 Best Restaurants” list for 2024 is out. Disfrutar's win showcases Spain's culinary excellence, taking the top spot, says CNN.

In fact, says Forbes, two Spanish restaurants are in the lead. But there are restaurants on the list all over the world.

Time Out is excited NY's Atomix is on the list. It's a Korean gem now among the world's top 50 restaurants.

But Grub Street is over the whole thing. The World's 50 Best Restaurants List has lost its relevance -- it's boring and predictable.
