DNC preview

The Democratic National Convention takes place from August 19 to the 22nd in Chicago. The NYT says to expect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to headline the event, but Biden is also expected to speak.

A MSNBC Op says the event ushers in a era of positivity for the party: Democrats stand united with new energy and morale at the DNC.

An ABC News Op was slightly more pessimistic: Democrats are excited and anxious heading into the DNC -- Trump still has a viable path to the presidency.

A WSJ Op says the DNC doesn't serve a real purpose, though: Throughout the years, the DNC's evolved into a pompous, boring, propaganda display. The convention should be more like the Olympics.

The JPost Ed Board didn't see it that way: The 2024 DNC serves an important purpose. Harris and Walz must prove their unwavering support for Israel amid party divides.

Eve, the robot fish

Eve is a DNA-collecting robot fish. CNN says it glides through water using a silicone tail and collects eDNA to help scientists study underwater ecosystems.

HotHardware adds that Eve is the work of engineering students at ETH Zurich: Eve saves researchers the time of diving for data and video themselves.

Plus, the Deccan Herald says Eve isn't invasive: The robot fish blends in with other fish for a minimal ecosystem impact.
