🏛️ In the news: Sam Bankman-Fried, guilty

Crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried (aka SBF) was found guilty of fraud. Reactions varied, but many agreed his conviction was inevitable.

🏛️ Coindesk said SBF’s conviction was no surprise: He'd been running his mouth too much. The jury deliberation didn't take long.

🏛️ CryptoSlate explained that the crypto community is reeling from SBF’s conviction. Billions in user funds were lost, and many feel betrayed.

🏛️ The Verge had some sympathy for SBF’s parents, though. The trial and conviction absolutely devastated them.

🏛️ Bloomberg thinks SBF won't be the last crypto mogul behind bars. It seems like the wild west days of crypto are over.

🏛️ And The Atlantic said Silicon Valley should learn from SBF’s case — other tech moguls could make similar mistakes. Hopefully SBF serves as a wake-up call.

🕰️ Cultural trend: The end of daylight savings?

Daylight savings is upon us. There's a fierce debate over whether we should move clocks at all, and over whether standard time is better than daylight.

🕰️ NYT: In 2022, the house introduced a bill to end the switch and stay on daylight savings time, but it stalled.

🕰️ Fast Company thinks daylight savings time should be a year-round affair. We’d have less crime, better sleep, and more sun.

🕰️ But WaPo says the US should stick with standard time: It's better for our circadian rhythm, and better for kids' mental health.

🕰️ Business Insider thinks switching is best. We get the best of both worlds by switching to and from daylight savings time every year.

🕰️ But many Americans disagree. A 2023 YouGov poll found that 62% of Americans would like to eliminate the clock switch for good.
