The controversial claims of migrants eating wild geese in Ohio
Chappell Roan’s red-carpet incident
4 quick hits of news from the last 24 hours
Are they eating geese?
NY Post: In Springfield, Ohio, a local man claimed that migrants are bagging local geese for food. A 911 call reported seeing Haitian migrants catching geese in a park.
The Washington Times says the Ohio AG is taking the claims seriously. He said locals who have seen people catching geese could be “competent witnesses in court”.
But Columbus Dispatch says the goose-eating claims are baseless. A Ohio resident regretted posting a photo of a person carrying a dead goose -- right-wingers are using the pic as “evidence” that the Springfield goose story is true.
WaPo’s take: The claim that migrants are eating pets -- or wildlife -- is false and racially motivated: Springfield officials and police confirm zero credible reports of migrant involvement in pet-eating incidents.
Chappell Roan snaps
Chappell Roan told a photographer on the VMA red carpet to “shut the f*** up”, after the photographer appeared to yell at her to STFU. HuffPo says the chaotic red carpet incident went viral online.
Watch the interaction for yourself here.
This Redditor stood up for the photographer: They were yelling at someone else -- no one was telling Chappell to STFU.
But Chappell explained the incident in an interview: The red carpet is “horrifying”. When someone yells at you, you yell back!
For what it's worth, Pedestrian says fans backed Chappell: That environment calls for “no-bulls***”measures. Kudos to Roan!
