The wildfires raging in LA have claimed 16 lives as officials warn of looting and hotel price gouging during the chaos.

DEI program rollbacks
Meta has announced its rolling back its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. ABC News says the shift illustrates a broader corporate trend: In response to conservative backlash and legal shifts, more companies are dropping their DEI commitment.
Business Insider says Meta specifically cited a changing “legal and policy landscape” in the U.S. in its reasoning. The company says it will continue to serve a diverse group of users without DEI initiatives.
Costco board member Jeff Raikes wasn't happy. He criticized companies like Meta and others ditching DEI, saying innovation and growth relies on diverse markets.
On the other hand, Financial Express says Meta's changes might've been made out of necessity: The company cares about staying compliant with current legal conditions and avoiding perceived discrimination.
