🪙 In the news: The SBF trial & crypto

SBF’s trial started on October 3. There are different takes on what it means for the crypto industry, and what the future holds.

🪙 WSJ: Sam Bankman-Fried (aka SBF), the former CEO of the failed crypto exchange FTX, is on trial for federal financial fraud charges.

🪙 USA Today says this trial is a big deal: If SBF is convicted, it could inspire a slew of other crypto crime prosecutions.

🪙 But MSNBC thinks that even if SBF is found innocent, he has already ruined crypto's reputation. The trial makes the larger crypto industry look bad.

🪙 The Financial Times took it a step further: This trial proves that crypto is a morally corrupt industry overall. It involves convincing people that imaginary money actually has value.

🪙 Coindesk disagreed: The trial is a “media spectacle”, and SBF is just a bad egg. Crypto believers shouldn't let the trial distract from real developments in the industry.

💪 Cultural trend: Is cinnamon good for you?

Should you take cinnamon as a health supplement?

💪 BBC Good Food says cinnamon is amazing for your health. It's full of antioxidants, it helps regulate blood sugar, and it lowers cholesterol.

💪 But the Gastrointestinal Society says cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause liver damage at high doses. Switch to Ceylon cinnamon if you can — it doesn't have coumarin.

💪 Healthline notes that it can also increase the risk of cancer, cause mouth sores, and worsen breathing problems.

💪 WebMD believes it’s healthy overall. Give it a try if you have diabetes or blood sugar issues. It also might help with weight loss.
