4 quick hits of news from the last 24 hours
Waymo hits Miami
CNBC: Alphabet's Waymo gears up to tackle Miami in 2026 with self-driving taxis, showcasing confidence in severe weather capabilities after years of testing.
CBS says it's a strategic move to solidify its dominance in the autonomous taxi biz -- they're also opening up in Phoenix.
Denver Gazette says this expansion to Miami is part of Waymo's larger plan to edge out fierce rivals like GM's Cruise and Amazon's Zoox.
Yahoo Finance notes that safety challenges still persist -- it could be especially rough in Miami with its unpredictable weather.
Biden’s book purchase
President Joe Biden was seen purchasing Rashid Khalidi's book, “The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine”. A Forward Op was intrigued: The next history book on Palestine may feature Biden himself. His reading of Khalidi's book suggest he's open to hearing Palestinian perspectives about the raging conflict in the Middle East
Snopes says Biden's public association with Khalidi's book sparked media buzz. The move sparked speculation about the book's possible impact on U.S. policy -- it could signal a shift away from Biden's historically pro-Israel stance.
But Defector wasn't so sure: Biden's role in funding Israeli actions makes him a key player in ongoing Middle East conflicts. His book choice should be seen as ironic. It's not a sign that he's changing his stance.
Either way, India Today thinks Biden’s actions will eventually land him in history books just like “The Hundred Years” War on Palestine“. He plays a big role in issues like Israel's alleged ”colonialism“.
