Celebrate Juneteenth?

Juneteenth (June 19th, 1865) is the day that Black Texans learned they were free. It was 2.5 years after Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, and it's now a federal holiday. Learn more about the history here.

The Smithsonian says it's important to celebrate because of the cultural significance. Also, it's a great alternative to the Fourth of July.

LA Times says celebrate it, but don't turn it into a consumer holiday. It has to remain reverent.

The Daily Beast says it shouldn't be a national holiday; it belongs to Black Texans and their freedom struggle. We need a national Emancipation Day instead.

Best summer drinks

Delish says summer sipping should be all about fruity, flirty cocktails -- The Aperol spritz is an all-time classic.

Taste.com: If you're looking for mocktails, go for a peach fizz twist with mint and raspberries. So yummy!

And the NYT recommends trying coolers: They're very simple and always refreshing -- no bar kit needed.

WSJ: And there's nothing wrong with a delicious canned cocktail. They're a lot better than they used to be!
