🌶️ Ban Flamin’ Hot Cheetos?

California's bill to ban Flamin' Hot Cheetos in schools stirs up a debate over health and choice.

🌶️ CBS: California could ban schools from providing Flamin' Hot Cheetos. It's about the artificial dyes like red 40 not meeting nutritional standards.

🌶️ Assembly member Jesse Gabriel shared his support for the ban on X. Those artificial dyes are linked to a number of serious health concerns like DNA damage, cancer, hyperactivity, and neurobehavioral issues. We have to protect our kids!

🌶️ But a Redditor on r/UnpopularOpinion says it's stupid. There are so many other unhealthy things kids can eat — why bother banning this?

🌶️ SF Gate wonders whether it will pressure companies to change their recipes. Supporters say they could use natural coloring like turmeric or beet powder instead of the dyes.

🔌 Elon vs. Don Lemon

Elon Musk pulled the plug on an X partnership with Don Lemon, following an uncomfortable interview.

🔌 WaPo: Elon Musk pulled the plug on a streaming deal with Don Lemon's new show on X. Musk said the show was “basically CNN on X”, which wouldn't be a successful business model.

🔌 CNN: Don Lemon says no, it's personal. Lemon asked Musk some tough questions in the interview and Musk got offended — so much for being a “free speech absolutist”.

🔌 Poynter agrees: Musk was being childish. He claims to be pro free speech, but soon as someone says something he doesn’t like, “he takes his ball and goes home”.

🔌 Sky News disagrees: Lemon is the fool here. He obviously hasn't learned from his debacle at CNN — why does anybody listen to him?

🔌 Fortune: Regardless, X is in need of content creators. They have to pay off $13b in debt!
