🇮🇱 Date set for Rafah offensive

Netanyahu says a date for the Rafah offensive has been set.

🇮🇱 Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says he has set a date for a Rafah offensive. BBC notes that the decision comes as international warnings about the humanitarian costs of a Rafah invasion grow.

🇮🇱 DW says displaced Palestinians in Rafah have no where left to hide. The offensive could displace a million people.

🇮🇱 But Hot Air had a different reaction: Of course Netanyahu has a date. Israel's been reshuffling troops — didn't everyone see this coming?

🇮🇱 And a WaPo Op thinks Israel must attack Rafah: As painful as it is, it's necessary to eradicate Hamas and secure victory.

🇮🇱 On the other hand, maybe the Rafah offensive isn't set in stone. Blinken thinks so — he says US-Israel talks will come before a potential Rafah invasion.

📔 Ashley’s diary thief

Aimee Harris's theft of Ashley Biden’s diary lands her a month in jail.

📔 WaPo: Aimee Harris, a Florida woman who swiped Ashley Biden's diary and sold it for $20k, was sentenced to a month behind bars. The judge presiding over her case called her actions “despicable”.

📔 But @N76247476Man on X didn't think Harris did anything wrong: Ashley Biden's “lost” diary might've been a deliberate way to dish an exposé on her dad.

📔 On the other hand, a Redditor on r/Politics says Harris's sentence is too lenient: Ashley Biden deserves privacy.

📔 Either way, Washington Examiner points out that the case isn't entirely closed. Employees of “Project Veritas” — the group Harris sold the diary to — are still under investigation.
