🤖 Apple’s home robot
Good morning. This is Shades of the Day, the daily newsletter that summarizes and organizes the different shades of perspective in news and culture so that you can see the big picture quickly.
Here at Shades we believe that seeing multiple points of view is the best way to stay informed. The easiest (and most fun!) way to do that is with the Shades mobile app, where this newsletter’s content is pulled from.
It’s Friday, April 5 — here’s what you’ll find in today’s newsletter:

🗳️ The WSJ’s swing state poll
A WSJ poll found that Trump is edging out Biden in key states.
🗳️ As the 2024 election looms, the WSJ says Trump leads Biden in 6 of the 7 key swing states: Blame economic discontent and doubts about Biden's performance.
🗳️ National Review thinks things are looking good for Trump. It's unclear if voters sentiment will change much before November.
🗳️ But a Fairfieldsuntimes.com Op says polls favoring Trump are misleading: Trump's support may be overstated due to polling biases and enthusiastic response rate.
🗳️ A WSJ Op's take: Nothing's set in stone yet. Swing state success hinges on party loyalty and independent wins.
🤖 Apple’s home robot
Apple's is reportedly considering a home robot product.
🤖 After shelving its car project, Bloomberg says Apple is looking into creating a home robot — and it could be the tech giant's “next big thing”.
🤖 Then again, maybe it won't. TechCrunch notes that many tech companies failed to replicate the success of bots like Roomba.
🤖 Tom's Guide believes, though: An Apple home robot makes a lot of sense. While still early in development, it reflects Apple’s pursuit of innovative tech beyond iPhones.
🤖 But Gizmodo thinks it's too soon to say: We'll all have to wait and see if Apple's home robot succeeds where others have stumbled.
