The Apalachee shooting

A Georgia high school shooting left at least two teachers and two students dead. CNN says the shooting is the deadliest of the year.

You can read the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's report on the shooting here. The investigation is still ongoing, but the 14-year-old shooter was arrested and charged with murder.

HuffPo says the FBI knew the suspect posed a threat, but lacked grounds to act preemptively.

Kamala Harris called the shooting a “senseless tragedy”: She said the event underscores the urgent need to confront America's gun violence epidemic in the 2024 election.

The Daily Wire said Trump released a statement, too. He said a “sick and deranged monster” took children away from their parents “far too soon”.

Who were the victims of the shooting? BBC shares profiles on the four people killed here.
