Delta’s IT meltdown

Delta is struggling to recover from the tech outage that grounded planes worldwide. NYT says their slow recovery led to continued flight cancellations and customer service complaints.

CBS: And now there's a federal investigation for customer service failures.

CNN: Delta CEO Ed Bastian apologized — and blamed the issue on a problem with the “crew tracking” software.

The WSJ says this is reminiscent of the 2022 Southwest collapse -- after the dust settled, the DOT hit Southwest with a hefty fine. Something similar could definitely happen to Delta.

7th HIV cure

A German man has likely been cured of HIV after a groundbreaking stem cell transplant. Axios says he's the 7th person to be considered cured.

NBC: It only worked because he had HIV and blood cancer -- the treatment is toxic to anybody else.

New York Post: Yeah, but it's still a great sign -- the man is the first to receive stem cells with just one copy of a mutated gene necessary to fight HIV. This means way more people could eligible for this treatment.

Kff Health is also optimistic. We need more research, but this is a great sign for future treatment.
