🏛️ The Fani Willis ruling
A Georgia judge ruled that Fani Willis can stay on the Trump case, if her ex bows out.
🏛️ DA Fani Willis can stay on the Trump election interference case — as long as her ex bows out. The Daily Beast said the Georgia judge's ruling comes after a heated legal battle.
🏛️ You can read the full ruling here.
🏛️ Hot Air slammed the decision: It's a cowardly cop-out. The judge admits Willis's unprofessional relationship, yet still keeps her on the case!
🏛️ MSNBC's Andrew Weissmann says the ruling was a huge blow to Willis, though. She should voluntarily recuse herself.
🏛️ And the NYT notes that Fani Willis's prosecution team isn't out of the woods yet. Post-ruling, the case is still marred by a personal scandal and GOP scrutiny.
⏰ The 32-hour work week
Bernie's bill aims to trim the 40-hour workweek to 32 hours, with no drop in pay. Is it a step toward worker well-being, or an economic misstep?
⏰ Senator Bernie Sanders proposed a 32-hour workweek bill with no pay cut. The NYT said the bill proposes changes to the workweek Americans adopted back in 1940.
⏰ Jacobin supported Bernie's idea: European countries have axed the 40-hour workweek — the US should too.
⏰ But @SenBillCassidy on X thinks Bernie's plan doesn't make economic sense: A 32-hour week would kill jobs and boost inflation.
⏰ Hot Air also didn't like it: Companies exist to make a profit, not to pay out to their employees. Bernie's 32-hour week is a socialist trap.
⏰ But Mother Jones supported Bernie's push: The bill may not pass, but it's sparking important conversations.
