Trump’s McDonald’s visit
New Zealand’s three-minute airport hug limit
4 quick hits of news from the last 24 hours
Trump at McDonald’s
Former President Donald Trump took a visit to a McDonald's in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The NYT says Trump's appearance drew both supporters and protestors.
Check out footage from the visit here. @TeamTrump showcased a supporter coming up to the window and thanking Trump for his work as president.
But a MSNBC Op wasn't buying it: Trump's “shift” was choreographed theatrics -- participants were vetted. The whole thing was super staged!
The Independent says some McDonald's employees weren't impressed, either. They say Trump's McDonald's gig was just cosplay -- he doesn't get how grueling the job can really be.
But AZ Central says haters are just bitter: Trump's visit smartly connected him with everyday Americans. He gets the average voter better than Democrats do.
3-minute hug limit
Dunedin Airport in New Zealand implemented a three-minute limit on hugs in its drop-off area. CEO Daniel De Bono says it's for good reason: He wants to “keep things moving smoothly”.
AP News says the quirky rule makes sense: It's all about avoiding traffic jams caused by lingering goodbyes.
And don't worry! ABC says people can still embrace for longer -- they'll just have to relocate to the parking lot to avoid causing congestion.
Still, a Redditor on r/Aviation says 3-minute hugs are too long to begin with: a hug that long “should qualify as kidnapping”.
